You know, Geese learn their migrations from elder Gooses. There is a population of Canada Geese around Boston who are descendant from Geese who were domesticated and used as live hunting decoys for enough generations to forget how to migrate. They were dumped back in the wild when live decoys were outlawed in the 70s and stay put all year round. I wonder if eventually they will follow the migratory flocks who pass through every year but I suppose those guys are not nesting in Boston, so they might never adopt Bostonian goslings and teach them the way.
